Louise Jasper
Louise S. Jasper, RVA native, is just out here loving life, trusting God, and staying focused. This is her story …
Ms. Jasper is the proud mother of one amazing son and two lovely daughters and is affectionately known as “Yaya” to four wonderful grandchildren. Family is everything to her, and Sunday dinners and holiday gatherings are what she cherishes the most.
While attending Midlothian High School, she began her career in radio, which lasted 33 years. The incredible experiences and friends she encountered in broadcasting will always remain close to her heart. In 2013, after the initial shock of a corporate layoff, Louise took a much-needed sabbatical from the 9 to 5 and enjoyed the luxury of an early retirement (for 2 brief years lol). For the past decade, she has utilized her clerical and customer service skills as part of the remarkable team at Brandermill Woods. This past June, she celebrated a rewarding 10th anniversary with the Environmental Services Department.
Outside of work and church, Lou loves dining out, fishing, spending time at the beach, playing spades, working out weekly with Fitness Warriors, and meeting monthly with the ladies of “Dejavu.” She recently took a memorable girls’ trip to Punta Cana in the beautiful Dominican Republic, and a time was had! In addition, she has enjoyed selling AVON and co-owned Pamper Parties where she indulged her clients with nail and skin care services, food, and lots of fun. One of her short-term goals is to publish a children’s book. Perhaps after her acting debut in this inspiring film written and directed by Louise’s BFF, aka Trace, she’ll put pen to paper once again.
Louise’s faith is central to her life, and she’s passionate about serving God and His people. Deacon Jasper has had the honor of serving as Chairperson of the Deacons’ Ministry of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Midlothian for the past 6 years. Additionally, she loves singing with several of MSBC’s gifted choirs, praise dancing, studying the Word at Bible study, participating in the Evangelism/Outreach Ministry, and planning events for the Singles’ Ministry etc.
One of her favorite scriptures is …
“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:13-14
