The Writer/Director

Tracey James, ThD, a native of Brooklyn, NY, is excited to write, direct, and produce her first film,

The Disciple Monologues.

Tracey’s occupation is Computer Software Trainer and Help Desk Specialist.

Her right-brain-dominant interests in the arts began as a child in a single dance class. She was classically trained in piano for ten years and was the director of an A cappella singing group in high school. Throughout her IT career in RVA, she found time to learn a few skills: camera operator, video editor, assistant commercial writer, radio announcer, desktop publisher, tap and hip-hop dancer, and praise dance instructor.

Tracey is a playwright and director of her works. She has performed in ensemble dancing, was an acting understudy in large-scale annual performances of Glorious Christmas Nights in Richmond, VA, and a Stage Manager for the Virginia production of The Stiletto Monologues (Alethea McCollin).

Tracey is currently in the script-writing stage of her second film, a short film she is hoping to enter into competition with when it is complete. She believes that you should try any heart’s desire at least once and is grateful to God for trusting her and allowing her to expound on her treatise of making ‘the performing arts an effective ministry tool’ by allowing her this theatrical experience.

Although challenged by this task, a lot of conversations with God got her here today. Tracey lives in these two phrases: “A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one." And "Do not ask the Lord to guide your footsteps if you are not willing to move your feet."

Feet don’t fail her now, she got out of the boat!

Tracey D. James, Th.D.
